Oswaldo Guayasamin Portraits
10th grade students in Quito designed portraits using chalk pastel. Discussions involving Guayasamins personal history, political, and social influence took place. His distinct style of painting gesture as a representation of poverty, despair, and the oppression of Ecuadorians were central to our design study. Students made expressive artworks.
