Maude E. Wiltshire

Maude Elizabeth Wiltshire is an American Art Educator and Photographer based in NYC. She is interested in people, culture, and the different ways of being. She documents everyday moments that define life around the world. Her work focuses on telling stories from street photos to remote villages. Maude aims to create images that are honest yet personal. She values photography to both learn and teach about life simultaneously. She was honorably mentioned for her work in the 2024 International Photography Awards and is a frequent contributor to F-Stop Magazine.
As an art educator, Maude believes one of the most responsible applications of her instruction has been exposing arts materials and processes to students with autism and developmental disabilities. She instructs middle school, high school and young adult students ages 18-22, in visual arts experiences from drawing, collage, and sculpture, to painting, printmaking, and photography. She holds a Certificate of Photography from the International Center of Photography and a Doctorate Degree in Art Curriculum and Instruction for Non-Verbal Artists with Autism. She has presented her research in art education at national and international conferences.
Maude is currently working on her first photo book, “BLAST”, a record of the historical and industrial architecture of the Sloss Furnace in Birmingham, Alabama. Maude is from Richmond, Virginia. She is a proud visitor to all her nations 50 states!
